No Nano, Books, and Books

Hello everyone!

Well, I didn’t finish my NaNoWriMo novel, but I did finish the first of my rewrites on “Flip Side”. While I was still mulling over the defeat of my 30 day writing binge, a friend suggested I pop into a little bookstore in Emporia. I was not prepared.

Ellen Plumb’s City Bookstore is that and so much more. The ladies have filled the cozy and sensible little space with books, jewelry, and more! They even have a section just for local Kansas authors! I applied and was accepted.

Now, what I need for all of you to do is GO SEE THEM and SHOP! The store is filled with quality, whether it be books or jewelry, or what other quality work they may have found and are showcasing. They are at 1101 Commercial Street, in Emporia, up near the college. It is more than worth the trip!

This weekend is the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library’s yearly event- Great Writers, Right Here. There will be around 50 different authors, from all genres, gathered there to meet and greet. This event is FREE to the public. You can talk to the authors, get signed books, and maybe your favorite writer will be one of the lucky ones to do a live reading! R.L. Naquin, Kevin Wohler, Deborah Dalton, Dennis Smirl, Aimee Gross, Sheila Dalrymple, Annette Billings, and others will be there. All genres are represented. I can guarantee you will find something to either give as a gift or as a gift for yourself. It’s at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library at 1515 SW 10th Street, Topeka, Kansas, from 1-4 p.m.. Stop by and see us!

I need to get a few business cards printed up before the weekend, and I need to go throw another log on the fire. The weather here is very Christmas-like and I am still trying to get into the mood. I do hope all of you had a good Thanksgiving  and I wish you an even better Holiday Season!

thanks again,

angel
